Practicing law since 1988, Richard J. Luptak received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Thiel College in 1982 and was subsequently awarded his Juris Doctorate from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1988. In addition to being licensed to practice in North Carolina, he holds bar appointments in both the District of Columbia and Western District of the United States District Court.

As an esteemed member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Mr. Luptak has been practicing in the State of North Carolina since 1988. He has experience addressing civil matters of law. Mr. Luptak has been an assistant District Attorney for Cleveland and Lincoln Counties, where he gained valuable knowledge and experience to understand the judicial process. He has practiced primarily family law, serving the citizens of Cleveland County since 1988 and was certified by the Dispute Resolution Commission of NC in 2003 to handle mediation of equitable distribution and other family financial cases. Mr. Luptak maintains his law practice in Shelby, just a short distance from the Cleveland County Courthouse.
